REACHLaw Lead Registrant Services

In REACH the lead registrant holds the keys to the kingdom. No registration is possible without one. However, the lead registrant takes on substantial legal and technical responsibilities by accepting the role. These responsibilities span from the timely execution of a joint registration to managing the compliance of the joint registration after registration as authorities demand further data. REACHLaw sees lead registrants through the critical path to registration and beyond.

Individual Lead Registrant Service

If you wish to start registration by taking the role of lead registrant for your chosen substance(s) but there are no other major manufacturers or importers who are in a position to contribute resources and finance. We can offer you complete legal and technical support to submit the joint registration in time and within agreed budget.

Cooperating Lead Registrant Service

If you wish to start registration by taking the role of lead registrant for your chosen substance(s) and there are other major manufacturers or importers who are in a position to contribute resources and finance with whom you are intending to enter into a cooperation or consortium agreement. We can provide you and the leadership team with complete administrative, legal and technical support to submit the joint registration in time and within agreed budget.

 

Lead Registrant

The lead registrant takes on the legal responsibility under Article 11 of REACH for executing joint submission in time so that other registrants can follow suit in due course. The Cefic recommended deadline for the joint submission of high volume, CMR 1 and 2 and R 50 and 53 substances is 1st June 2010. Yet, currently less than 10% of pre-registered substances have a Lead Registrant.

Some lead registrants can rely on the support of a consortium, industry association or a research institute. Others have been alone in initiating pre-SIEF activities. Depending on our customer’s need, we provide support for lead registrants through the critical path to registration and beyond.
