CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS

REACHLaw Finland is seeking a Toxicologist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Toxicologist with a strong background in regulatory toxicology and proven expertise in study management and monitoring. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the field and a deep understanding of chemical regulations such as REACH, KKDIK, K-REACH and GHS/CLP. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of regulatory projects, providing toxicological expertise to ensure compliance and safety in the use of chemicals.

You will be based in Helsinki, Finland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct toxicological evaluations of substances to support regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and review hazard classifications (e.g., CLP, GHS) and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and review toxicological summaries and data for regulatory dossiers (e.g., REACH, KKDIK).
  • Collaborate with regulatory scientists, ecotoxicologists, and other team members to compile comprehensive documents.
  • Maintain close communication with CROs to monitor study programs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice on testing strategies, study design, and waivers in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of toxicological testing methods, regulatory guidelines, and scientific advancements.
  • Represent the organization in client meetings, regulatory discussions, and technical workshops.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in toxicology or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D).
  • Certification as a toxicologist (e.g., DABT, ERT) is an advantage.
  • At least [5 years] of experience in toxicological assessments and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical regulatory frameworks (e.g., REACH, CLP).
  • Experience with toxicological testing and interpreting data (e.g., in vivo, in vitro, QSAR models).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English. Skills in other European language is a benefit.
