On the 31st of January, 2020 the UK exited the EU and a transition period started on the 1st of February which will last until the 31st of December 2020, unless it is extended. During this transition period, all EU laws including EU REACH continues to apply in the UK. However, UK based companies such as manufacturers, formulators, importers, only representatives, and downstream users, and Non-EU manufacturing companies whose Only Representatives are located in the UK, will need to take actions to remain REACH compliant to secure the continued supply of their chemical substances to the EU market after the transition period ends.
