Turkey KKDIK: A comprehensive view on pre-registrations and registrations

Companies placing chemical substances on the Turkish market in quantities of at least 1 tonne per year are required to pre-register these substances to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization – MoEU- by the 31st of December 2020, unless specifically exempt from the KKDIK Regulation. Once the pre-registration deadline has passed, the KKDIK registration phase will start on the 1st of January 2021 and will last until the 31st of December 2023. Unlike EU REACH where companies had 10 years phase-in registration period, under KKDIK there are no staggered deadlines for registration and companies will have only three years to register their chemical substances with the MoEU.
