UK REACH: EU REACH Lead Registrants aiming to become a Lead Registrant under UK REACH

On 1 January 2021, the UK REACH regulation came into force in the UK and, therefore, companies based in Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales) will need to comply with the UK REACH registration obligations if they manufacture or import substances at 1 t/a or more, as such or as part of mixtures, that subject to UK REACH registration requirements.
UK REACH shares the same one substance, one registration (“OSOR”) principle as EU REACH to avoid, e.g., unnecessary animal testing. Therefore, under UK REACH members of the so-called “Substance Group” (similar or SIEFs in EU REACH), will need to appoint a Lead Registrant who will be responsible for preparing the Lead Dossier of the joint submission and for gathering all the required physicochemical, toxicological and eco-toxicological data on the substance and its uses for the purpose of inclusion into the Lead Dossier.

During this online session we will give you an overview of the UK REACH regulation and requirements for Lead Registrants and will also give you advice on how you can benefit from your experience as an EU REACH Lead registrant, where applicable. In addition, we will provide you with useful insights on how to start the UK REACH Lead Registrant nomination process, what needs to be done and how to benefit from your existing EU REACH data so that the UK REACH Lead Registrant work can be simplified.
