India BIS Update: Quality Control Order Timeline Extensions of 3 Chemicals

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (Department of Chemicals & Petro Chemicals), Govt of India had notified amendment order dated 24.10.2024 for the extension of the enforcement of the following  Quality Control Orders (QCO) on The Gazette of India 

The Amendment order specifies that the enforcement of the following QCOs from 24th October 2024 to 24th October 2025.

 Once the above Quality Control Orders implemented, both local and foreign manufacturers must adhere to the respective Indian Standards and display the Standard Mark, obtained through a respective license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), following Scheme-I outlined in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The utilization of the Standard Mark is governed by the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, along with the corresponding Rules and Regulations. The Bureau of Indian Standards serves as the certifying and enforcing authority.
